The fact that major boatyards in Hampton Roads and the Outer Banks choose Bay Propeller as their primary service provider is a sparkling testament to the high standards Max and his team have set for themselves.
Max has over 25 years experience in all major aspects of boat maintenance. He learned his craft from the ground up: welding, sandblasting, painting, inboard, and outboard repair, and propeller analysis. He served his apprenticeship under the skilled hands of Jerry Durand, the well-known specialist who founded the company over 17 years ago. Our reputation for excellence continues to grow.
We are a major distributor of high-quality, innovative products from Veem Engineering Group, leaders in the marine propulsion industry. Our product line also includes: Volvo Penta, Hytorq, Michigan Wheel, Mercury, Mercruiser and Power Tech. In addition, We maintain a large, in stock inventory of both new and reconditioned propellers, everything for the smallest outboard to the largest stern drive. We offer in-house boring, and keying of inboard wheels to 42 inches in diameter.
At Bay Propeller and Marine Supply we utilize the Hale MRI Scan, the result of which is an extremely accurate, three dimensional pictures of a propellers camber, rake, track, and pitch. The data can then be transferred from one Hale MRI, to any other Hale MRI via e-mail, direct data transfer or disk. This is a distinct advantage to the cruising boat owner when away from home port.
Marooned is Costa Rica, Puerto Rico or Italy? Not a problem. Bay Propeller has established relationships with quality marine service providers throughout the world. One phone call to Max and a stranded client can be hooked up with a new propeller in a reasonable period of time. On the domestic front, propellers are shipped via UPS throughout the continental United States.
Active members of the National Marine Propeller Association, Max and his team are serious about staying on the cutting edge of propulsion technology through continuing education.
“We do everything possible to give satisfaction, and maintain long-term relationships with our clients,” Max explains. “We don’t skimp on anything… not our products, or our service. We have a very focused crew. If we promise that a job will be completed by a certain date, we’ll do whatever it takes to fulfill that promise. We’ll even provide ‘loaner’ props for our clients until theirs can be repaired or replaced. We want to keep people in the water, fishing, cruising, and having fun.”
